West Ham have a rich history of bringing through top quality young players, and it is something the Hammers fans here in the Tavern often like to bring up.

Over the years, we have seen the likes of Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand, and Frank Lampard come through the youth ranks, and there are many others who we could mention too.

This season has seen the Hammers struggle for consistency, with a move to a new stadium and their star player from last season seemingly affecting the form of the first team.

However, our landlord has been chatting with some of the fans at the pool table, and they are confident for the future as numerous quality looking young players are coming through the ranks.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO rising West Ham stars who fans should be taking notice of…

Kyle Knoyle

The big defender is one of the most highly regarded young men at the Hammers, and he will be knocking on that first team door very soon with regularity.

Knoyle is only 20-years-old still, and clearly has a bright future ahead of him. West Ham fans will be hoping they may have unearthed the next Rio Ferdinand with a bit of luck!

George Dobson

Midfielder Dobson is already making an impression during a loan spell with League One Walsall, which is ideal for his development.

At just 19, he has plenty of time to develop and make a case for a first team spot with the Hammers, but for now, he is well on track and this current loan spell will have done him the world of good.
