Sheffield United: Blades slaughter rival fans after ’embarrassment’

Many Sheffield United fans have slaughtered bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday as they seemingly had a lot of empty seats against reigning FA Cup champions Manchester City in their round-of-sixteen tie last night.

Twitter’s Kop.Finest posted a tweet of Hillsborough with what appears to be a lot of empty seats when the tie was still level at 0-0, calling it a ‘pure embarrassment’. Manchester City eventually won the match 1-0 through a Sergio Aguero goal which bundled over the line after the Wendies’ keeper originally got a glove to the shot.

The Blades later learned that they will face Arsenal at home in a second quarter-final which also sees Leicester City play Chelsea and Norwich City versus the winners of tonight’s last round-of-sixteen clash between Derby County and Manchester United. These Blades fans decided to respond to the Twitter post mocking their arch-rivals over their low attendance, with one fan cheekily asking if there was a ‘fire drill’:

Blades fans, what do you make of the Owls? Is their disappointing home attendance against the reigning cup champions going to affect them for the rest of the season? Comment down below.
