According to Bloomberg (via Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol on Twitter) Southampton are in talks to be taken over, with our Saints fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping it may take them to the next level.
The south coast club have had to contend with seeing their best players leave for Liverpool and Manchester United more often than not over the last few years, but have always managed to evolve in light of that and perform with this season being no different.
Under new boss Claude Puel, they are looking competitive but the feeling must be that they need an injection of cash to make sure they can compete off the field, with some of the biggest clubs in the country.
That step looks as though it could be about to come to fruition, though, according to Solhekol who tweeted via @SkyKaveh that the Lander Sports Development Company of China were looking at a deal…

The Saints are looking to improve on their sixth place finish from last season and also progress into the knockout stages of the Europa League.
They face Inter Milan in the competition on Thursday night at St. Mary’s, and our landlord fancies a comfortable win for the home side!
