Southampton may have managed to overcome a potential banana-skin of a tie against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, however it appears some of the club’s faithful were not quite happy with everything they saw.
Indeed, the Saints seem to be in a good patch at the moment as they continue to build on positive momentum and put together some great results (WhoScored).
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side managed to get the victory with the help of some of their youngsters with both William Smallbone and Jake Vokins getting on the scoresheet (BBC).
However, the performance of Kevin Danso did not go unnoticed, with many of the Southampton supporters continuing to have doubts about whether the £6.3m-rated defender (per TransferMarkt) is still right for the club.
The centre-back arrived from FC Augsburg on loan in the summer window and the club have the option to turn his temporary spell on the south coast into a permanent one (BBC), but it appears he may have his work cut out as the 21-year-old has featured just nine times across all competitions.
Indeed, fans felt he had been poor whilst others just can not make their mind up whether Danso is good enough for them moving forward.
Here are just some of their reactions…
Danso unfortunately did not do it for me, but you have to consider that he is playing out of position. However, Saints can not afford to intervene with the inform partnership of Bednarek and Stephens. Good for Yoshi and Romeu to get a run out!

Giving the ball away so easy… must say, a poor performance. Nobody playing for their place. Danso and Vestegaard have been extremely poor, Oriol has been excellent

Danso was a mixed bag. Romeu was what he is… my point is you can see why he’s not in the Prem side.

@solentsport Well it wasn’t the best game but we won. Vokins was good, Smallbone grew as the game went on thought it was a shame he came off. Danso looked out of his depth again, would love to see him play in the centre though to give him a fighting chance. But il take the win 🙂

Danso is going to be a project. #saintsfc

I can’t work out if Danso is a good player
