Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Spurs Mount Audacious Swoop

Connor Wickham is the latest  reason Royston Keane has found to talk to the football press . It has pretty much bewildered me as to how much attention a failing Championship manager can get these days.

The lad is alleged to be priced at £5million and the plan according to disgruntled Ipswichians would be to buy him and lend him back.

Here’s what Royston had to say…

I’m not going to discuss that but you can make out of my reaction what you want. If I was a manager of one of the big Premiership clubs I know what type of player I would be looking at.’

That hardly gives us a clue, Roy, when you were at Sunderland your buying strategy was at it’s most sophisticated moments, scatter-gun.

‘Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale went for big, big money and these boys had only played 15 or 20 games for Southampton.’

And they were coached by people who actually knew what they were doing, Roy.

‘The fans would lynch me if I sold Connor.’

Really? Well if that’s the case, it’s a lot of money, but we have to look at the wider issues, the greater good,  I suppose.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
