Sheffield Wednesday: Fans share whether or not they’d accept Steve Bruce back

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce

Sheffield Wednesday fans have become increasingly disillusioned with Garry Monk over recent weeks and that has sparked a discussion about former manager Steve Bruce.

Specifically, some fans are discussing whether they would support a move to bring him back to Hillsborough, and there has been a mixed response. Bruce may have only managed the Owls for a few months but he made a good impression in losing just three of his 18 matches in charge, so it is little surprise that some would like him to be the manager once again.

He also has a wealth of experience and has achieved promotion from the Championship, and may have the man-management skills to get the best out of the current squad given his previous track-record in the second-tier, which Monk hasn’t been able to do. However, he has won just 10 out of 32 games at Newcastle, and the manner in which he joined the Magpies has left a sour taste in the mouths of some fans considering how quickly he left and some are not willing to forgive his decision to leave.

Here is some of the debate taking place among the Wednesday fanbase.

Yes , as long as you take Monk in part exchange. He has to be better than what we have now #monkclueless

So many fans would have him back. A fresh start is needed in the summer from the top down. We need to be looking to the future now

Have him back tomorrow – if you had the chance to manage Wednesday don’t tell me you wouldn’t leave Newcastle to be at the club you supported as a lad

Honestly, if you’d asked me in August I’d have laughed at you, now i’d take him back in a flash! If he’d not gone u reckon we’d have been right up there, definitely wouldn’t have thrown 22 points away!

No chance iwhatsoever.I knew the man was a snake but hoped this time wouldve been different. A leopard never changes its spots.
