Stoke City will be disappointed not to have secured all three points against Queens Park Rangers yesterday as they were pegged back in the 78th minute.
The Potters haven’t been able to ensure consistency at all in the current campaign, which has had a huge impact on their promotion chances under Gary Rowett. However, it appears as if the club are eyeing a potential addition, as according to as according to The Sun on Sunday (25/11; page 60) (via HITC), Stoke City are interested in signing Tom Heaton.
Stoke City are thought to be interested in securing the services of Tom Heaton.
However, Leeds United, Aston Villa and Bristol City are all in the race for the goalkeeper, so it won’t be easy.
Jack Butland has been in sensational form this season as he continues to put in match-winning performances in the Championship, so he could be on his way to the Premier League in January.
Therefore, Heaton seems like a sensible purchase as he has the ability to slot right in-between the sticks.
THE VERDICT:

Tom Heaton still has plenty of life left in him and could easily replace Jack Butland in-between the sticks, but this will all depend on whether they can secure his services in January.
Of course, with Leeds United able to provide the potential of promotion to the Premier League, you struggle to see what the Potters can offer him, other than regular first-team football.
