Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to summer when they can forget this season even happened.
Indeed, the Hammers really have not had a season to remember with them struggling to adapt to their new home, players under-performing and plenty of unrest amongst the supporters.
Certainly, next season needs to be a drastic improvement and that will all start over the off-season with transfers a crucial part of any ambitions they plan to fulfill.
David Gold and David Sullivan will be expected to get their wallets out and help pay for the players, then, whilst some Hammers fans are unhappy that their rumoured targets are being referred to by the club.
One fan particularly wasn’t happy and tweeted Gold with this:
Stupid honestly @davidgold what happened to putting an end to telling everyone our targets https://t.co/KYZSzw77UF
— Arun⚒ (@ArunWHU) 23 March 2017
To which Gold responded with this:
In the main the leeks of West Ham’s interest in players comes from out side the club. In any event we we will sell our allocation of ST. dg https://t.co/gXUnEFmNAJ
— David Gold (@davidgold) 23 March 2017
Pretty amicable, then, but many Hammers were still keen to let Gold know some of their thoughts about things – including a rather big spelling mistake:
@davidgold You and you staff don’t need to comment on it though. Buy the players quietly. Buy quality. Stroke your fragile egos after.

@davidgold leeks are vegetables!

@davidgold fair enough David but what is the point in the media watch section on the site? It just spreads transfer rumours

— John Pearce (@JDsLeftSock) 23 March 2017
@JDsLeftSock it’s ok … he’s Welsh
— Paolo Antonio (@tone_paul) 23 March 2017
@davidgold our target should be putting away your cheque book and playing our brilliant youngsters
— stephen field (@stephenfield515) 24 March 2017
@davidgold how can the leaks be from outside? Either its fake news or someone in the club is telling the press. we Are a laughing stock
