Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see their side stay up this season because they know just what kind of side that might be able to have under David Moyes.
Indeed, whilst ridiculed for his spell at Manchester United, you cannot deny that the Scottish boss is a very good person to have at the helm of a Premier League club and if he can save things this year, he should be able to build.
That future is in the balance at the moment, though, even with him taking a personal look at one of his transfer targets Sam Gallagher – according to ClubCall.
Moyes was at Blackburn v Derby to take in the 21-year-old’s latest performance with him currently on loan at Ewood Park from Southampton.
He’s a tall and powerful forward that’s been capped at U20 level for England and with Jermain Defoe getting on – though his performances would suggest otherwise – a new striker has to be of importance to the club.
Gallagher could be it, then, though it remains to be seen just what Southampton decide to do with him.
