Sunderland offer Moyes big £20m January boost as survival plot thickens

According to Bleacher Report on Twitter, Sunderland are set to hand their manager David Moyes a significant amount of money to sign new players in January, with our resident Black Cats fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping that is exactly what happens.

The north-east side have struggled this season and only recorded their first win of the Premier League campaign last weekend against Bournemouth, to leave them six points away from safety in the table.

They’re currently right at the foot of the league with Swansea City just above them on goal difference but it appears that Moyes will be given £20 million in a bid to attract new players with a striker top of his shopping list, as the video below suggests:

Moyes did not get much time to shape his squad to his liking in the summer with his late appointment following Sam Allardyce going for the England job so January should mark his first proper chance of signing players he wants.

Jermain Defoe is seemingly the only source of goals on Wearside right now and the Scottish coach could be in line for a hefty budget in order to partner the 34-year-old.
