Tottenham need to start winning games again or they’ll start seeing their title chances dwindle this season, and our resident Lilywhites fans here in the Transfer Tavern certainly agree with that.

The men from White Hart Lane are by no means out of the title race, they are only five points behind leaders Liverpool, with them being the only unbeaten side remaining in the division but their lack of cutting edge with Harry Kane out of the side has certainly been eye-opening.

It was expected that Spurs would miss a player of Kane’s calibre, any side would in fact, but the way that his replacement Vincent Janssen has so far underperformed has suggested the squad still needs work it if is to deal with all of the rigours of a modern season in this country.

Our landlord agrees and thinks that if Spurs want to become serious title contenders they need to sign these TWO players in January…..

Alexandre Lacazette

This would certainly annoy our resident Gunners fans here in the Transfer Tavern but right now you’d argue Spurs need Lacazette more.

Whilst Arsenal are by no means the strongest in terms of options up front they have got Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud, whilst Spurs really only seem to be able to rely on Kane.

That cannot work this season and so they should make a move for the Lyon man.

Mauro Icardi

Another striker Spurs should consider signing is Icardi.

The Inter Milan man has been in great individual form even though his club have been floundering this season.

He’s also had to contend with a pretty poor rapport with the Inter fans this campaign, too, so you have to wonder if it would be best for all if he left.

Regardless of that, it’d be more than good for Spurs to get him in their side.
