Our Middlesbrough fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hugely happy with the job Aitor Karanka has done for their club this season.

You can see why, too, as the men from Teeside have immediately adapted to Premier League life and look more than comfortable at coming up against some of the biggest clubs in European football.

Karanka deserves plaudits for that and for the signings he’s made so far with the likes of Victor Valdes and Alvaro Negredo catching the eye at times this season.

Naturally, then, our Boro fans are hoping for more signings in this window and with Bojan being linked they may just be about to get their wish.

Our landlord doesn’t reckon it should end there, though – especially if the club want to stay away from the bottom three – and thinks these two stars could follow the diminutive Spaniard to the Riverside Stadium this month…

Charlie Taylor

The Leeds United full-back is one of the most impressive stars in the Championship and is apparently wanted by Boro.

The Riverside Stadium outfit only have George Friend as a genuine option at left-back and so it makes sense for them to be looking for further options ahead of the rest of the season. The Whites are going for promotion in the Championship this season, though, so they’ll be keen to hold on to him.

Jese

Madrid, Paris, Middlesbrough? Just maybe for Jese.

The Spanish forward has not had the time he would have expected or wanted in the French capital since joining PSG from Real Madrid last summer. He’ll be keen to get a move away, then, and if Karanka can help him find his feet then we could be about to see an incredibly good signing come off. Jese has the tools to succeed he just needs the confidence.
