Time to look for a new club: 2 Aston Villa players who should consider summer exits

The Aston Villa fans who venture here into the Transfer Tavern on occasion are a massively frustrated bunch this season.

Under Steve Bruce, things have not quite gone to plan, and despite spending a ton of money in the January transfer window, and indeed in the summer, they are languishing down in the lower echelons of the Championship table.

The Villa fans over at the pool table have been looking disgruntled all week, and a 1-0 loss to Ipswich yesterday has done nothing to lighten the mood.

Despite spending so heftily on new players, there are still some players in the Villa squad who simply are not needed, or not good enough to be at the club.

Our landlord thinks Steve Bruce needs to move a few more on in the summer, and we agree.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO Aston Villa players who need to look for a new club this summer…

Gabby Agbonlahor

It’s been a bit of a fall from grace for the Villa man, who has spent almost his entire career in the claret and blue.

However, his time looks to be up, and he is firmly out of favour in terms of the first team. A move in the summer might be best for both the player and the club in this situation.

Ross McCormack

He might have already made the move on loan to Nottingham Forest, but in the summer, McCormack needs out of the club.

It is clear he does not quite fit in and is not in Steve Bruce’s plans, and add to that the situation with missing training, and it’s hard to see a way back for the forward.

Plenty of clubs would take a chance on McCormack, so Villa should’t have a problem offloading him.
