Tottenham midfielder Alfie Devine faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury, Football Insider.
The Lowdown: Devine’s absence…
Devine, labelled as a player with ‘real spark’ by Japhet Tanganga, scored on his Spurs debut in the FA Cup last season.
Brought in from Wigan Athletic in 2020, Devine has mainly been plying his trade in the Under-23’s in an attacking midfield role.
He has missed the last three games for the U23’s during the current campaign, though, and his absence has now been explained.

Football Insider shared a story on Thursday morning, revealing why Devine has been missing in recent weeks.
They were informed by a Tottenham source that the teenager has ‘broken down’ with a hamstring issue, in what is a blow to his hopes of catching Antonio Conte’s eye.

Tottenham have been rocked with worries over first-team stars Cristian Romero and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Leeds United and Devine has now joined the list of injured players.
The 17-year-old has been in fine form for the U23’s this season, scoring six goals and registering two assists in eight Premier League 2 matches.
Spurs have had their midfield issues in the first-team, which has resulted in the likes of Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele being linked with moves away.
That could have given Devine the perfect chance to impress Conte ahead of a possible 2022 breakthrough, but he’ll now have to remain patient before he can look to catch the Italian’s eye.
