Tottenham supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their team book their place in the last four of the FA Cup for the second successive season courtesy of a 3-0 success over Swansea City on Saturday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men had made hard work of their run to the quarter-finals of the world’s oldest club competition, having needed replays to get past Newport County and Rochdale in the preceding rounds. Yet there were no issues for the North London club in South Wales as a Christian Eriksen double alongside Erik Lamela’s second of the season sealed a routine victory for Spurs, thus earning them a semi-final clash with Manchester United at Wembley next month.
Consequently, there have been many thrilled Tottenham fans in the Tavern throughout this week, several of whom are hoping their side can finally end their decade-long wait for a trophy by going on to win the FA Cup this term.
In the meantime though, there has been much for our resident Spurs supporters to discuss, not least recent reports linking them with a cut-price move for West Brom defender Jonny Evans this summer.
The Northern Ireland international made the move to the Hawthorns back in 2015 and has since gone on to play 93 games for the Baggies, although it looks like their lengthy stint in the Premier League will come to an end this season given they are ten points adrift at the foot of the table.
And relegation for the Midlands outfit this term would mean that 30-year-old Evans would be available for just £3 million this summer, and reports suggest that Pochettino’s Spurs are one side interested in what appears to be a bargain deal for the former United centre-back.
However, Tottenham fans on Twitter can’t seem to agree over whether their team should indeed land the £13.5 million-rated ace (as per Transfermarkt) this summer…

Seriously? So we bring in a centre back who currently plays for a team rooted to the bottom of the Premiership rather than centre backs like Jonathan Tah or Tarkowski???
