Despite going into the game as clear favourites against Gent, the Lilywhites failed to pull a performance out of the bag – finishing the game as 1-0 losers.
It was Tottenham’s second poor performance in as many games, with Mauricio Pochettino’ side also losing out to Liverpool earlier in the week.
The Tottenham fans on Twitter have been quick to come out and criticise their team, and one player has been facing the brunt of the criticism in particular.
At fault as Tottenham went 1-0 down, Ben Davies looked throughly outclassed on the night, and he did very little to suggest to Mauricio Pochetino that he should be starting every week ahead of Danny Rose.
Never a set of fans to hold back, the Tottenham fans on Twitter have echoed those in the Transfer Tavern – mercilessly slamming Ben Davies for what has been described by one fan as a ‘comically bad’ performance.
