Tottenham fans on Twitter still have so much love for Michael Dawson

For a lot of Tottenham fans, Michael Dawson is a huge figure at the club. The Nottingham Forest defender was at the club for an incredible nine years as a player and it’s fair to say the fans took to him like a duck to water and today, on his birthday, the fans have all been quick to reminisce over him.

The 35-year-old lived and breathed every moment if his time at Tottenham not only as a player but also as a fan and he will always be synonymous with White Hart Lane. Alongside Ledley King, the ex-Spurs skipper was one of Tottenham’s most iconic players in a team that was flashy going forward and solid at the back. Dawson’s only honour in his career was the League Cup with Spurs, and it’s one that a lot of fans remember fondly.

Even since he left the club, Dawson has continued to show how much he loves The Lilywhites, when he was at Hull City and helped the club gain promotion via the playoffs he was asked if he was excited to be going up against the likes of Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho and all the other quality managers in the division, although his response was that he was just looking forward to going back to White Hart Lane, a comment which Spurs fans everywhere adored.
