Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to a transfer report which claimed that they could re-sign former youngster Marcus Edwards.
The 21-year-old began his career with Spurs after spending time with their youth academy, making a name for himself which former boss Mauricio Pochettino further enhanced when drawing comparisons with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
Sent out on a loan spell to Norwich City to gain first team experience during the second half of the 2017/18 season, Edwards was then sold to Portuguese outfit Vitoria de Guimaraes, as per Transfermarkt. The London-born youngster has been impressing for his new club and, in 20 appearances this term, he has gained a respectable five goals and eight assists.
A report in TodoFichajes claimed that Spurs are in ‘advanced talks’ to re-sign the winger this summer, further adding that a deal worth €18m (£16.37m) is being discussed.
Reacting to the report via Twitter account Hotspur Hacker, some fans seemed a little dubious of the club’s reported interest.
