Loads of Tottenham fans have had their say on Giovani Lo Celso’s tackle which went unpunished during his side’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
The Argentinian midfielder was one of the talking points after the final whistle after his horror tackle on Blues’ skipper Cesar Azpilicueta was waved away by referee Michael Oliver. Upon inspection of the replays from VAR, they agreed with the official that it was not worthy of a red card. However, those at Stockley Park later admitted that they had made a mistake and Lo Celso should have been sent off.
As a result, the scoreline could have been a lot worse for the north London side. Goals from Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso meant that Spurs gave up the opportunity to leapfrog their rivals in the Premier League table. One fan said it was good news that Lo Celso remained on the pitch and will not face retrospective action, while another stated that it made a change that they had some good fortune.
