These Tottenham fans have been reacting to the possibility of former Spurs favourite Gareth Bale making a return to north London before the transfer deadline.
The Express revealed that Jose Mourinho is keen to sign at least three players before the transfer window closes. However, he will face a tough task to sign the Welshman, who spent six years at White Hart Lane before his £85.3m move to Real Madrid in 2013. The Wales international is currently on £650-000-a-week in the Spanish capital, which adds to the already herculean task.
Bale, 30, has suffered an array of hamstring and calf injuries during the current campaign, which has restricted his playing time to just 12 La Liga appearances with two goals, as per TransferMarkt. With Harry Kane sidelined with injury, Mourinho is keen to find a suitable replacement for the England captain with chairman Daniel Levy expected to aggressively haggle for the best possible deal.
Before his departure from the old White Hart Lane, Bale made 203 appearances for Spurs, scoring 56 goals and conjuring up 58 assists during that time. Despite this, some supporters were not convinced that their team could get a deal over the line at the end of the January transfer window, making their feelings clear on social media.
