If you were to tell a Tottenham fan six months ago that they’d be relying on the form of Moussa Sissoko as they go into the hectic festive period then they’ve have laughed at you. But football’s a funny old game, and just like the fans, Ben Davies has been waxing lyrical over Sissoko, describing him as an invaluable member of the squad on the Tottenham website.

Sissoko’s form has been recognised as he was called up to the French national team for the international break and managed to win his 54th international cap when he came off the bench against The Netherlands in Les Bleus UEFA Nations League loss. However, result aside, it was good to see Sissoko returning to the French squad after missing out in recent years and now he’ll be determined to kick on and show that he deserves to be a starter.
After showing the fans that he does have that little bit of quality when he found form for Tottenham, the ex-Newcastle man’s confidence has sky-rocketed and he’s an un-droppable member of the Lilywhites first-team squad at the moment. When he returns to Tottenham he’ll no doubt be thrown in against Chelsea, Inter and Arsenal as The Lilywhites face a tough trio of games, but if they’re to come out of it in good form then Sissoko will be key to that.
