Tottenham Hotspur: Fans blast Rio Ferdinand following comments about Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been blasting Rio Ferdinand after the former Manchester United defender made less than pleasing comments about Harry Kane.

During the BT Sport coverage of Tottenham’s opening Champions League game, the former England international said if he was Kane he would ‘be gone’.

Ferdinand said: “If you look at it as if you’re an individual, put yourself in like Harry Kane’s shoes, you’re saying “I’m off”.” (Source: BT Sport via The Metro).

The comments came following yet another 2-2 draw in which Spurs blew a two-goal lead. Kane and Lucas Moura gave Mauricio Pochettino’s side a 2-0 lead, however, Olympiakos fought back to earn a draw in the club’s opening Champions League game (via BBC).

This is the second time this season the Lilywhites have blown a two-goal lead, also doing so away to north London rivals Arsenal.

Ferdinand’s comment have been less than pleasing to some of the Tottenham fans as they took to Twitter to blast the former Leeds United man.

Here is a selection of tweets from the fans of the north London giants:
