Tottenham Hotspur: Fans left questioning decision regarding Japhet Tanganga

Tottenham Hotspur's Japhet Tanganga arrives at Colchester United before the Carabao Cup match

Tottenham Hotspur fans were left questioning manager Mauricio Pochettino after reports concerning Japhet Tanganga.

According to Football Insider, Spurs have offered Tanganga a new deal to prevent him leaving the club, with the 20-year-old out of contract at the end of the season.

Fans were left questioning Pochettino after the reports of the club wanting to extend the youngster’s contract with one fan fearing a move to Germany:

Then play him . Before he goes to somewhere like Germany for first team football.

The £720k-rated Tanganga (as per Transfermarkt) has made just one first-team appearance for the Lilywhites this season, despite the lack of stability in defence for the north London giants.

Spurs have conceded two or more goals in seven of their 15 matches across all competitions, including seven at home to Bayern Munich and three away to Brighton and Hove Albion in back-to-back games (via WhoScored).

With Tanganga’s contract expiring at the end of the season, it seems fans are quite annoyed at his situation as they took to Twitter.

Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:

So why hasn’t he played 1 minute?

If he’s so high on his potential, lets see him play more. Let him play and grow so he can reach his potential

Why would he sign a contract to sit on the bench ( sometimes not even that ) he’s better off going somewhere like Watford to play regularly and for a manager who actually trusts him

Won’t make the team. Too loyal to old, washed out players.

He needs games in the 1st team. He couldn’t play any worse than any CB we have

Tottenham fans, what do you make of the Tanganga’s contract situation? Let us know your thoughts!
