Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to Alexander Tettey’s comments about club under Mourinho

Norwich City midfielder Alexander Tettey has had his say on the current situation at Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The 33-year-old Norwegian was involved in the Canaries’ FA Cup fifth round victory against Spurs on Wednesday, playing 31 minutes after replacing Tom Trybull (Transfermarkt). The match finished as a 1-1 draw before Daniel Farke’s side won 3-2 on penalties to set up a quarter-final clash against Manchester United.

It would appear that the midfielder wasn’t impressed with the north London club’s style of football under new manager Jose Mourinho, hinting that they were much more dangerous under his predecessor, Mauricio Pochettino. Speaking to Norwegian news outlet VG, Tettey said: “They’ve changed completely from being very aggressive and good with the ball under Mauricio Pochettino, to what they’re doing now, where they just wait for you.”

Spurs are in poor form at the moment having now lost four matches in a row, going down against RB Leipzig, Chelsea and Wolves prior to their shootout loss against Norwich (Transfermarkt). Some fans are already becoming fed up with Mourinho’s negativity and it seems that many actually agree with Tettey’s comments. One even suggested that being criticised by someone who plays for the Premier League’s bottom club shows how far they have fallen recently.

Here is how some responded to what Tettey had to say on Twitter…
