Danny Rose has once again been speaking about his last few months at Tottenham Hotspur before completing his loan move to Newcastle United.
The England international was a regular for Spurs for many years, playing 214 games for them across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 29 assists in that time (Transfermarkt).
However, he found his opportunities in north London limited following the arrival of Jose Mourinho last November. Indeed, he started just one Premier League match under the Portuguese which was against Liverpool in early January (Transfermarkt) before making the temporary switch to Tyneside.
According to @LastWordOnSpurs, when reflecting on his last few months at Spurs, Rose admitted that he knew he would be leaving the club as soon as Mauricio Pochettino was sacked and replaced by Mourinho.
“I saw me going as soon as Mauricio lost his job. I wish Jose the best of luck,” said Rose.
