Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to news that Anthony Joshua fight will take place at their stadium

Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium is set to host Anthony Joshua’s next fight against Kubrat Pulev, that is according to a report from The Sun

Eddie Hearn had wanted the bout to take place in April, but it is suggested that it will now take place on 20th June to avoid a clash with any of Spurs’ Premier League fixtures. It is also thought that Tottenham have fended off competition from their north London rivals Arsenal to host the event.

The fight will see Joshua return to the ring for the first time since regaining his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles from Andy Ruiz Jr in December (BBC Sport). One thing is for sure, it means that owner Daniel Levy will earn some serious money from hiring out the stadium for the fight and that is what many Spurs fans were focussing on when they heard the news.

Indeed, many have taken to Twitter to claim that it is great news for Levy that Joshua will be performing in their brand new stadium, which is designed to host other events and already has Saracens’ annual clash against Harlequins pencilled in for March 28th.

Here is what some supporters had to say…
