Several Tottenham Hotspur fans have been getting excited after Juventus forward Paulo Dybala posted a picture of himself and his girlfriend in London on Monday on his official Instagram page, even including a white heart in the caption to add further fuel to the fire.
The Argentinian was, of course, a major transfer target for Spurs in the summer window. Indeed, according to the Independent, Tottenham wanted to buy the player, Juventus were keen to sell and Dybala himself wanted the move, but the transfer ultimately failed to go through before the deadline.
Spurs are once again keen on signing a striker in this window with Harry Kane having been ruled out until at least April with a hamstring injury (tottenhamhotspur.com). But it seems unlikely that they will be bringing in the 26-year-old given he has played 26 times for Juventus this season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists (Transfermarkt).
Added to that, he is currently valued at £76.5 million by Transfermarkt and it doesn’t seem realistic to think that Daniel Levy would spend such a figure after reportedly refusing to pay for his image rights back in the summer (Independent).
However, it hasn’t stopped some of the Tottenham faithful from dreaming about bringing in the former Palermo ace after seeing the image of him in London. Here is how some reacted to it on Twitter…
