Overall the ‘teenies’ have been a successful decade for Tottenham Hotspur, particularly under the management of Mauricio Pochettino.
Indeed, from the 2009/10 season onwards the north London club have finished no lower than sixth and more impressively in each of the last four seasons, they have finished in the top four (Transfermarkt).
Added to that they have also had relative success in Europe, reaching the UEFA Champions League final last season despite not spending a penny in the two transfer windows prior (Transfermarkt).
As for their local rivals Arsenal, it has been a decade that has seen them decline somewhat.
For the first few years they remained a consistent top-four club under Arsene Wenger, but in their last three seasons, they have finished fifth twice and sixth (Transfermarkt).
Wenger’s replacement, Unai Emery, has already been sacked and as it stands they sit a lowly 10th, with just five wins from 17 matches (BBC Sport).
A stat has now emerged which shows that statistically, Spurs have been the better of the two clubs in the Premier League during the last decade.
Indeed according to BBC Sport, Tottenham have averaged 1.854 points-per-game in the last 10 years which is slightly more than the Gunners who have averaged 1.852 points-per-game.
Plenty of Spurs fans have been reacting to the stat on Twitter, some have used it to take a swipe at Arsenal however others think it is a little embarrassing given that they haven’t managed to win a trophy in the decade whereas the Gunners have.
Here is what some had to say…
Arsenal truly finished
