Loads of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been responding to a tweet which included quotes from former midfielder Mousa Dembele as well as footage of some of his highlights at the club (@LastWordOnSpurs).
The Belgian played for Spurs between 2012-19 and racked up a total of 249 appearances whilst in north London, chipping in with 10 goals and 12 assists in that time (Transfermarkt).
In January of last year he decided to leave Tottenham, moving to Chinese side Guangzhou R&F for a fee believed to be £11 million. He said that the reason he opted to leave was to try “something different,” (Sky Sports).
Dembele was a firm fans favourite at Spurs, as you can tell from the reactions to the tweet. In the post, the explained what it meant to play for the club, saying: “A lot of love in my heart, memories of fantastic times.”
Plenty of fans have responded to it, with many drooling over how good he was whilst also saying that they have still yet to adequately replace him. One even suggested that selling him was the reason why Tottenham lost the Champions League final against Liverpool last season. Here is what some had to say..
