Tottenham target Eberechi Eze has revealed he wants to “play at the highest level” in an exclusive with Sky Sports.
The QPR midfielder gave an insight into his plans for his future, as well as coping with rejection from Arsenal and Fulham, in a wide-ranging interview with presenter David Jones on The Football Show.
Eze is not letting transfer speculation distract him, saying: “This season, of course, I’m seeing the stuff that is in front of me but I’m not allowing it to affect what I’m doing”. He concluded: “The most important thing is what I’m doing on the pitch and as long as I continue to focus on that, everything else will fall into place. I want to play at the highest level.”
After returning to QPR at the end of his loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers in January 2018, Eze has quickly made a name for himself at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, scoring 12 goals and creating eight assists in 37 appearances in the Championship for Mark Warburton’s side this season. The 21-year-old holds dual citizenship with England and Nigeria, and has won 2 caps for his age group.
Last month, the Daily Express claimed that Jose Mourinho is the clear favourite to sign the England under-21 international in the summer. His current market value is estimated at £8.1m via Transfermarkt but whether or not Daniel Levy will make a move for the youngster remains to be seen.
Lots of Spurs fans are split by this transfer update, with one supporter believing that Eze is “not needed” and another believing that the board should negotiate a “straight swap for Clarke and Amos”.
