Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are backing manager Mauricio Pochettino after he made comments on Moussa Sissoko potentially playing right-back against Bayern Munich tonight.

The Argentine said that the midfielder could be used in the position, and reminded everyone of Sissoko’s appearance there against Barcelona in the Champions League last season.
He said: “Yes. If you remember last season at Barcelona in Champions League game he played in that position. It’s not new.” (via Twitter)
Sissoko had a 29-minute stint in the backline last season as Spurs came from 1-0 down to rescue their last 16 hopes away to the Catalan side in the Champions League (via BBC).
The France international has never played right-back on a permanent basis, but he has featured prominently in right midfield for Spurs, playing there on 21 occasions last campaign (via TransferMarkt).
It seems that some fans don’t mind having Sissoko in defence as they took to Twitter to agree with the potential decision from Pochettino.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
I’m happy with that.

Likely the best spot for him in this years squad.

As long as he doesn’t play Sanchez there

He’s a beast in defence but he can’t cross a ball

No the reverse when we drew at the Nou Camp to go through, KWP started and came off and Sissoko went RWB and pulled off a masterclass

Rather sissoko at right-back. Sell aurier and bring in a better one, that’s what we are asking for really
