It was a superb night for West Ham United at the Olympic Stadium last night as they beat Spurs 1-0 to all but end their title race for this campaign.
Their fans here in the Tavern were absolutely delighted with the result which now pushes the side even closer to that elusive top-half finish.
Thanks to a Lanzini strike, the Hammers made it almost impossible for Spurs to catch title-chasers Chelsea, with nine points now available with nine needed to catch Antonio Conte’s side.
And for West Ham fans, it’s a superb result that brought some much-needed cheer to East London after some tough times over the course of the year. They’re safe for yet another campaign and the pressure now comes off the shoulders of previously under-fire Slaven Bilic, who has the whole summer to get the squad where it should be.
