Rangers will be out for some serious revenge this weekend when they take on Old Firm rivals Celtic today.

The Gers fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been in a foul mood ever since their 5-1 humbling at the hands of their rivals earlier in the season, and they are keen to avoid a repeat today.

It’s been strange old couple of months for the Gers, who have parted company with manager Mark Warburton and are seeking to appoint his successor ASAP.

Their first season back in the top flight has not been a disaster, but they have been far and away outdone by Celtic and Brendan Rodgers.

Lots of talk this week though over in the corner of the bar has been centred round Rangers getting the win this weekend, and our landlord thinks they could well pull it off.

The need to end the unbeaten run

If there is one thing Rangers fans want now this season, it is to put and end to their rivals’ unbeaten league run.

Winning and ending the run at Celtic Park will be the stuff dreams are made of for the Gers, and it is this motivation which will hopefully be driving the Rangers players and fans on this afternoon.

They do have quality of their own

Despite the star names in the Celtic squad, Rangers do possess quality of their own within the ranks.

The likes of Joe Garner and Jon Toral are good enough to turn games around with a moment of class, and they will be hoping they can produce a piece of magic today and help the Gers come away with the win from Celtic Park.
