Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern were certainly pleased to see that their lack of transfer activity and Danny Rose’s recent comments didn’t impact their opening game.
Indeed, though the Lilywhites were not at their best against Newcastle on Sunday, they managed to grind out a result – partly thanks to Jonjo Shelvey losing his cool – and so it’s three points from their first game for the Londoners.
For sure, the club will want to improve performance wise but that will come as the season gets going over the coming weeks and they’ll certainly be aiming to be sharp for this weekend.
Indeed, Spurs host Chelsea at Wembley this weekend with the Blues still licking their wounds from Burnley embarrassing them at Stamford Bridge and Hugo Lloris – as quoted on the club’s Twitter – is seemingly ready.
