Former Premier League attacker Darren Bent has backed new West Brom signing Kamil Grosicki to flourish at the club following his late January move to the Baggies.
Speaking to Football Insider, the ex-Tottenham attacker believes that the Polish international, who was one of three January signings for West Brom (per Transfermarkt), has what it takes to succeed at the club, with Bent praising the Albion for pulling off the deal.
Bent said: “He’s another one that’s got bags of ability, got a lot of pace, can score goals and it surprised me that he was at Hull for so long. Again, there must be something going on there behind the scenes but it’s a great, great signing for West Brom, a really good signing. Good players will play better around better players, I think Grosicki will do really well for West Brom.”
With Grosicki being one of the most consistent attackers in the Championship in recent years, as his history record from WhoScored shows, it is understandable why Bent believes the former Rennes attacker can bring something new to the West Brom side, who in recent weeks have struggled to put the ball in the back of the net.
Despite scoring the most goals this season in the Championship (per the EFL’s official website), West Brom have found it difficult to kill off games since the start of 2020, with Slaven Bilic’s side winning just one league game this year.

However, with Grosicki this season already notching up six goals and five assists for Hull City, the Polish international could be a potential form-changing signing for West Brom, who needed that extra bit of quality in the attack.
Bent is right to label Grosicki as a ‘great signing’ for West Brom given the Pole’s impact on the division in the past three seasons. Also, with the Baggies winning for the first time in 2020 following the conclusion of the transfer window, the arrival of the 31-year-old attacker has seemingly brought a much-needed morale boost around the squad that has apparently been lacking in recent weeks.
