Despite being knocked out of the FA Cup on Tuesday at the hands of Newcastle United, plenty of West Brom fans are finding some positives to take from the 3-2 defeat. Following the game, a lot of supporters are stopping to appreciate the shift young Kyle Edwards put in against Newcastle.
The 22-year-old – who made 3 key passes, the most in the Baggies’ side (WhoScored) – provided the assist for Kenneth Zohore’s goal in the third minute of stoppage time but unfortunately for the Baggies, it wasn’t enough to draw level with the visitors.
“It was a chance for me to go out and show what I can do,” Edwards said in a recent interview. “I’ve been out of the squad lately because the team is so good, so it was a chance for me to do that and I think I did all right,” (via West Brom).
Fans are reflecting on his comments, with many emphatically praising his performance last night considering they managed to run the Premier League side close in what was a dramatic closing period to the clash at the Hawthorns. Indeed, some fans are demanding that he plays more Championship football while another predicts he will be in ‘the top ten of all time’.
