West Bromwich Albion: Fans enjoy club’s Diomansy Kamara compilation

Plenty of West Brom fans enjoyed watching footage posted by the club featuring former Baggies attacker Diomansy Kamara.

Albion’s official Twitter channel @WBA uploaded a compilation of some of the Senegal international’s highlights during his time at The Hawthorns.

Kamara spent two years at West Brom between 2005 and 2007, signing from fellow Premier League club Portsmouth. His first season with the Baggies was not a memorable one as he scored just once in 28 appearances and ended up with three times as many yellow cards as goals as Albion were relegated (as per TransferMarkt).

However, the 2006/07 campaign saw the Senegalese forward burst into life as he struck 23 goals in 43 games for Albion, winning him the club’s Player of the Year award and getting him into the Championship Team of the Year.

His highlights that season included a goal in the 3-2 play-off semi-final win at rivals Wolves, as well as netting doubles in both league fixtures against Leeds. However, indiscipline was still an issue as he was booked 12 times and sent off once in that campaign. He eventually left for Fulham in 2007 after scoring 24 goals in all for the Baggies.

These West Brom fans on Twitter were largely positive in their reflections on the prolific yet sometimes ill-tempered Senegalese “monster”, with one supporter saying that he “always liked him”:
