West Bromwich Albion: Fans expect Grady Diangana to return to West Ham

A number of West Brom fans are resigned to losing Grady Diangana once his loan deal expires at the end of the season.

Twitter channel @BaggiesHQ asked followers if they think Albion have a chance of signing the 22-year-old, currently on loan from West Ham, again for the 2020/21 campaign, but many supporters reluctantly believe that eventuality is unlikely.

Diangana has struck five goals and registered six assists in 22 appearances at The Hawthorns this term, including a brace in a 2-1 win at Luton early in the season. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury just before Christmas had heavily curtailed his involvement since then even prior to coronavirus halting English football in March. [via TransferMarkt]

It is an indication of how well the winger has performed during his loan spell under Slaven Bilic that he has the fourth highest average WhoScored match rating of everyone in the squad for the current campaign.

However, these West Brom fans on Twitter are pessimistic about the chances of Diangana pulling on a Baggies shirt again once his loan deal ends:

Obviously we all want to sign him, but he’s been too good for us for West ham to consider letting him go. If they’ve got any sense they’ll want to keep him.

Essentially if West Ham go down then not a chance, if they stay up then yes, but, he’d be expensive. We don’t really have a proper gauge on where finances are so it’s impossible to predict whether it’ll be good value

Every single baggies fan hopes so. Reality is not. Unless West Ham want to sell for a deal – it would be expensive and therefore a gamble for us but like barnes year before I believe he can kick on and establish himself
