Despite what would have been a disappointing result in Wales, a number of the West Bromwich Albion fans still managed to find a positive out of the result with Swansea City – the performance of Semi Ajayi.
Some of the club’s faithful took to Twitter to praise the 26-year-old’s contribution in the match, with some believing it may have been the only good thing they could take from the game; especially after Leeds United’s victory against Huddersfield Town meant they would be spending the weekend below them in the Championship table (BBC).
Indeed, Ajayi certainly did his best to help the Baggies keep the Welsh outfit at bay throughout the 90 minutes, as the enforcer made one tackle and one clearance, whilst also winning one aerial duel in a display that earned him a match rating of 6.57 by WhoScored.
One supporter mentioned that he was ‘the standout player’ whilst another believes the defender gets ‘better each game’ whilst others appear to feel he is part of the future for The Hawthorns outfit.

The only positives I can get out of this match is Ajayi and O’Shea. O’Shea isn’t a RB by trade, but he puts a shift in every week. Can see him and Ajayi forming a nice partnership in the future #wba
