West Ham United are open to the possibility of sending winger Andriy Yarmolenko out on loan in this transfer window, that is according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (print edition, January 12th, page 67).
The Ukrainian international joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2018, but he has struggled to make much of an impact at the London Stadium. Indeed, in 15 league appearances this season, he has scored just three goals. They all came earlier in the campaign and he has gone nine without netting (Transfermarkt).
As a result, the report suggests that the attacker has been offered on loan to other clubs in the Premier League as new manager David Moyes looks to put his own stamp on the squad. According to Spotrac, Yarmolenko is on £115,000-per-week at West Ham, so offloading even half of his wage would enable room for manoeuvre in the transfer market.
It seems that the Hammers fans are divided about the potential exit of the 30-year-old. Some feel that he isn’t good enough and would be happy to see him go, with a few even suggesting that they’d rather just sell him than loan him out.
Meanwhile, others can’t understand letting him leave on loan given that they do not have the biggest squad and would prefer him to stay. Here is what some had to say on Twitter…
get rid asap, he’s trash

Makes no sense at all…. Moyes and yarmo already fallen out! Yarmo the day moyes was appointed ” clearly I need to follow pellegrini out the door as this club shows no ambition, I can feel my calf, it’s tight”

Great idea with our massive squad 😩

This makes no sense what so ever

Why would we loan Yarmalenko? Sell him, if the money is spent on additions, but to loan would be pointless with our small squad.🤔⚒
