West Ham: Fans discuss Jack Wilshere’s future in East London

West Ham fans are debating whether Jack Wilshere has a future at the club after Football Insider reported that the former Arsenal and England midfielder has returned to light training.

Since Jack Wilshere made a name for himself at Arsenal at the age of 16 in 2008, his career has been plagued with injuries. Indeed, in total, Wilshere has been injured for 1,348 days via Transfermarkt. In the two seasons he’s been with the Hammers, the defensive midfielder has been injured for 335 days, and fans have not been able to consistently watch him in action.

West Ham are currently in a battle to stay in the league and when he is fully fit, Wilshere does have quality. As per WhoScored, the 28-year-old drew the most fouls per game last season for the club (1.5) and his passing accuracy was the highest in the squad at 89.8%.

However Moyes can’t depend on the player and other midfielders like Pablo Fornals and Tomas Soucek have been brought it, pushing Wilshere further down the pecking order. With that in mind, it will be interesting to see what the midfielder’s plans are in the summer if he can stay fully fit.
