New West Ham United manager David Moyes has given the club his approval to press ahead with trying to sign Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa, that is according to a report from FCInterNews.

The 23-year-old is contracted to Inter Milan, but has recently been on loan at Flamengo where he scored 34 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
According to the report the Brazilian outfit want to make the loan move permanent, but are only offering €18m whereas the Hammers are prepared to pay €20m.
It also suggests that the player is keen on a return to European football and that a move to the Premier League ‘teases’ the man also known as Gabigol.
However, it seems that the West Ham supporters are divided on whether or not signing the striker would be a good move.
Some are wary as he hasn’t managed to cut it at Inter, where he has only scored one goal and made just 10 appearances (Transfermarkt).
However, others want to sign him and are in awe of his incredible goal record at Flamengo. Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
West Ham desperately need a box to box midfielder, but we’re after Gabigol. Never seen a club so consistently, repeatedly distracted by the shiny thing over there.

Never a fan of a player on loan can’t be that great if not cutting it at his current club
