A lot of West Ham fans are replying to a West Ham video on Twitter showing David Martin and emphasising their appreciation for the 34-year-old goalkeeper.
Martin was originally signed by West Ham in June 2019 to provide cover for Lukasz Fabianski but found himself thrown into the West Ham starting 11 at the end of November. He is the son of West Ham legend Alvin Martin.
The goalkeeper made his debut for his boyhood club away to Chelsea and managed to keep a clean sheet (Transfermarkt). After the clean sheet, West Ham fans fell in love with the goalkeeper and even though he has to settle as a sub ‘keeper, the player clearly loves being able to be a part of the club that he has supported since he was a child (West Ham).
In the video, Martin can be seen congratulating all of his teammates after the 3-1 victory against Southampton and this act has caused the love between the player and fans to grow even more.
Here are what some of the fans tweeted:

Hope Martin stays at the club even if in a non playing role he’s clearly one of us and all the players seem to love him. ⚒
