Since West Ham made the move to their new stadium, things haven’t exactly gone as planned. The London Stadium atmosphere has come into question more than a few times and the club have been looking into how to remedy that. The solution they’ve come to has seen them renegotiate the capacity they’re allowed from 57,000 to 60,000 and they released a club statement confirming that.

A lot of the Hammers would sacrifice the extra gate returns in a heartbeat to move back to the Boleyn Ground if that was an option. The supporters have been left frustrated time and time again at their new home and considering their win rate at the Olympic Stadium is a meagre 36% in the Premier League, with 16 wins from 44 Premier League home ties since the start of the 2016/17 season.
The supporters will be hoping that with 3000 more fans piling into their ground every week they may be able to inspire a better atmosphere and help their side kick on to grab some more wins and turn the London Stadium into something of a fortress. However, that’s not what most fans believe will happen as they prepare themselves for busier, more hectic matchdays at their home.

The Hammers don’t see the logic in upping their capacity when they don’t fill the current 57,000, and would much rather see their club look to tie up a contract for Declan Rice.
