West Ham fans are enjoying an interesting first season under Manuel Pellegrini. The Chilean has got the Hammers playing the right way with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Marko Arnautovic firing, yet the fans cannot wait to add Manuel Lanzini to that pairing to make it a devastating trio in their attack.

Lanzini is a sublime midfielder and his story of missing the World Cup last summer was a heart-breaking one. The summer in Russia would have been the West Ham man’s first ever World Cup, and his only chance to play with Lionel Messi, the world’s greatest ever player, on the biggest stage and a crucial knee ligament injury cost him that. However, he now looks ready to get back to it at club level and shine.
If Lanzini does get back to playing the football he was before his injury then it won’t be long at all until he’s played his way back into the Argentine national team and staked his claim as one of the best players outside of the Premier League’s top six. His numbers speak for themselves, with 99 West Ham appearances producing 20 goals and 15 assists, and the fans are desperate to see those numbers change before the end of the season.
