While it may currently be the international break, there were still a host of first-team West Ham players in action for the club during the week.
The Hammers took on Brentford in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday which featured the likes of Javier Hernandez and the returning Andy Carroll.
As well as Hernandez and Carroll, summer signing Lucas Perez also played — and with good reason.
The Spaniard was in need of minutes after barely being used by manager Manuel Pellegrini so far this season, something which was evident from his performance against the west London side.
Going forward, though, especially with Andriy Yarmolenko’s injury, £5.4m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Perez certainly has plenty to offer to Pellegrini and this West Ham team.
Be it from up front or the right flank, Perez is a capable goalscorer with his dangerous left-foot, showing as much during his time in La Liga with Deportivo de La Coruna.
