West Ham were one of the most active teams in the transfer window from the Premier League over the summer, adding the likes of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko to their squad.
And the Hammers could be set to strengthen their options further with Football Insider reporting that manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen on raiding rivals Tottenham for midfielder Victor Wanyama in January.
Looking at West Ham’s current options in the middle of the park, a move for Wanyama would make much sense. Jack Wilshere is currently out injured while Carlos Sanchez has underwhelmed to say the least since arriving at the London Stadium.
Like Wilshere, though, Wanyama has had his troubles with injuries in the past. But with the sort of steel the 27-year-old could add to West Ham’s midfield, it is still a deal worth pursuing for the east London club even if Tottenham and Daniel Levy choose to make things difficult.
Have a look at what West Ham supporters are saying on the club’s rumoured interest in Wanyama below…

Would be amazing signing, but spurs barely ever do business with us.

Still only 27, Prem proven and given Spurs wage structure, we could definitely afford to pay him, would be an excellent move!
Him and RLC on a loan added to the squad would be absolutely incredible business.— Steven McCarthy (@StevenMcCarthy9) 29 October 2018
Would take that but can’t see it happening

Can’t see it happening but be good business if we get it over the line!
