Plenty of West Ham United fans were left excited following a post on social media by goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski recently.
The Polish shot-stopper simply posted a picture of himself on his official Twitter page with the caption: “Back to training #COYI.”
It comes after the 34-year-old has missed the Hammers’ last 10 Premier League fixtures after picking up a hip injury against Bournemouth back in September (Transfermarkt).
His absence has led to West Ham’s form dramatically declining. Indeed, they have lost seven of the 10 games he has missed, winning just two (Transfermarkt).
Roberto was his immediate replacement but has really struggled, conceding 14 goals in just six starts (Transfermarkt). David Martin has since taken the gloves and has done better with two clean sheets in four (Transfermarkt).
However, it seems as though Fabianski is now on the verge of a return and it would be fair to say that the fans are absolutely delighted.
Most can’t wait to see him back in the team and believe that they desperately need him back. Here is what some have been saying on Twitter…
