West Ham United striker Albian Ajeti celebrated his 23rd birthday on Wednesday and the club made sure they wished him many happy returns with a post on their official Twitter account.
The 10-time Switzerland international joined the Hammers from Basel last summer for a fee of £8m (BBC Sport) but he has struggled to make much of an impact in east London so far. He has failed to make a single start in the Premier League this season and has had just eight cameo appearances totalling 126 minutes on the pitch (Transfermarkt). That is despite him having an impressive scoring record at Basel, where he netted 21 times in 43 appearances last season in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Several West Ham fans have been responding to the club’s post wishing Ajeti happy birthday, with many sympathising with the striker for the lack of opportunities he has had and suggesting that he deserves more of a chance in the team.
