West Ham United will be bitterly disappointed with how yesterday’s game panned out as they were thumped 4-0 by Manchester City at the London Stadium.
The Hammers shouldn’t let yesterday’s result affect them too much as they were rather impressive prior to the international break. However, with improvements still required in January it appears as if Manuel Pellegrini is eyeing potential addition, as according to The Sunday Express (printed edition; 25/11/2018), West Ham United are set to make a move for Valentino Lazaro.
Interestingly, West Ham United are set to make a move for Hertha BSC defender Valentino Lazaro in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old joined Hertha from Red Bull Salzburg in 2017, and has been an important player for them and on the international stage with Austria.
Lazaro has been regular for Hertha this season, securing 12 starts in the Bundesliga, with two goals and two assists to his name already in the current campaign.
Sadly, the Hammers have suffered from a number of injuries already this season, so bringing in a versatile player that has the ability to play as a full-back, winger and attacking midfielder would be useful.
THE VERDICT:
West Ham United will be desperate to secure the services of the Austrian international as he has been able to contribute in all areas in the final third, which is something that has been missing for the Hammers at times.
Ryan Fredericks, Carlos Sanchez and Andriy Yarmolenko are currently out injured, so bringing the 22-year-old to the club would be sure to bolster their ranks and provide cover.
